ONIX & metadata feeds

ONIX 2.1, 3.0 and 3.1 done properly: schema, codelists, Schematron rules and the retailer's own dialect. Price and availability, Thema and BISAC, cover images — validated before they leave.

Every book record that reaches a shelf, a website or a library catalogue is a feed first. We have written, validated and delivered those feeds for the South African trade for three decades, and we still read the standard line by line.

02 Data

Data pipelines at scale

Secure collection, hash-verified archives and a governed merge that never loses what a supplier sent. Tens of millions of records, with field-level provenance.

Nothing sent is ever lost; descriptive fields are arbitrated by trust and recency, supply data is unioned with attribution, and every exported field can answer which source said it, when, and why it won.

Classification, extraction and standards guidance from language models that may only choose from the licensed vocabularies — with a person confirming every change.

AI proposes. People confirm. Every field keeps its provenance and its confidence score, so an enriched record is never a guessed one.

Built for learners on phones, on poor connections, often reading in a second language. Progress survives load-shedding. Certificates are professional-development awards, not NQF-registered qualifications, and anyone can verify one by its code.
